nepalgunj houses at high risk of earthquake

Ninety five percent of the houses built in Nepalgunj municipality are at high risk of earthquake. Of the 14,000 houses, only 5 percent are earthquake resistant and as per engineering standards, so far. Although a decision was made to build houses as per earthquake resistance standards in the town some time ago, it was canceled after pressure from most of the townsfolk.
